Homestead Park Community Day Recap

Recap of Community Day at Homestead Park on 28 September 2024.

The Community Day hosted by OH Watch, Ou Meul, Oranjezicht City Farm, 9th/16th Cape Town Scout Group, and the City of Cape Town was a roaring success!

It was so lovely to meet so many of you, and enjoy a lovely day with neighbours, raising awareness and funds for security upgrades to the park.

We aim to raise R50 000 towards camera and motion detected lighting in the park.

The cameras will be monitored by SS Management, and CBAR and ADT will respond to alerts of unwanted people in the park, ensuring that they do not spend the night and leave unwanted things behind. Thanks to SS, CBAR and ADT for sponsoring these services to ensure the safety and cleanliness of the park.

If you were unable to attend on the day, please use our SnapScan code in the sidebar to contribute to these efforts.

The City’s Waste Management team also gave out recycling bins. If you missed getting one you can read more here and here, and mail the City here to get your own.
