Report an incident
It is important that you report a crime with the South African Police Service first and foremost, as, at a minimum, it ensures accurate statistics are kept by the authorities. Statistics drive the allocation of resources.
We encourage you to log the details of crime incidents here. We use this info to assist the police with the building of cases, identifying offenders and logging the names of witnesses and victims.
We can offer our support to you, and do what we can to assist you in the vulnerable moments after a crime has taken place. We are happy to arrange a trauma counsellor for you or your loved ones, or sometimes you just want somebody to accompany you down to the police station and sit with you as your statement is recorded.
Collecting statistical data about crime is vital for any neighbourhood watch, particularly as we know that many crimes regularly go unreported. We can use these member-generated statistics to better represent our needs and those of our local police station, as budget and resources are allocated according to these numbers.
